Six Million Moons

There are things in life that seem to take the very heart of us
And, there are people who have more value then a plane of gold
If lucky we can find the one who can chase away the rain
Sometimes they can even bring us closure to a story never told...

I know my eyes they tend to show a whole new kind of light
I'm certain my minds direction is obvious I'm somewhere free
When my distance it is recognized you ask of where I am
And, to myself I say I'm in a place I should not be...

Cause I'm looking in the eyes, the only eyes, I care to stare into
And, I'm in the arms of the taken one not wanting to be anywhere else
Six million moons may pass by and I will still he here
Even though it is a dream I only dream myself...

I'm somewhere fear can no longer call out my name
I'm really resting on the edge of a mountain hanging over the sea
Like it's velvet waters that resemble his hands all the same
I sit here knowing I have no right in this world to want him this close to me...

I know I'm not meant to walk the same road gentleness does
My purpose is to lie still for the unwanted in the night
So, I take myself to my familiar sands where I can have patience at hand
Asking why I just don't deserve to know what this man is like...

For six million moons to pass by is a song only forever knows
If that is how long I can remain here then I'll never leave
Because I can sing forever, too, if it's my dream I am making
And, not even eternity can wash away his effect on me...

He can't go anywhere for the principle of why I stand before him
But, I have six million moons to go through to dream and redream
So, when my distance it is recognized and you ask of where I am
Forgive me if I don't reply for I am in a place I should not be...
