Blue Moon

The night is cold and frost hangs in the air
I gaze into the darkness of the sky
A blue moon looking down with silent stare
While I remember where love said goodbye
Feeling not the cold I let thoughts wander
To feel again the warmth that filled my soul
With little understanding I ponder
But never find the answers to console
I see your words return to light the page
And yearn again for what can never be
To accept that your heart I’ll not engage
For you made plain there is no love for me
As burning tears run down this frozen cheek
I turn to leave not letting my heart speak

Karen Torbiak 2001©Dec.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

I guess if we want to live the better memories ... we have to taste the bitter ones as well

Karen...such a message...so many feelings
expressed..Is sad when scorned...turned away
by another...Makes the heart very cold..

Guess that I am going to have to get the
Phantom to start walking the halls again..

You put such power in your poetry...

Ohhh, I hope you are not in this blue mood today. It's a beautiful poem, but such a sad expression of loss.

Seymour...I am so glad you liked it. The moon looked so blue last night I just had to pen what my thoughts had been. HAPPY NEW YEAR**hugs**

Rex...how true...I guess we need to know the bad to appreciate the good. HAPPY NEW YEAR **hugs**

JM...thank you so much and a VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU TOO. **hugs**

arthur...I can do sad but try most times not to..this time I was not sucessful. HAPPY NEW YEAR**hugs**

Ivy....so very good to see you, dear one. This poem is based on someone I loved last spring. You may recall him. Anyway the past sometimes still haunts me. HAPPY NEW YEAR **hugs**

Magnus...thank you for understanding. Yes, when rejected like this one tends to become more cold and distant. I have noticed the change in me...I am very much afraid to trust. HAPPY NEW YEAR, my friend. May you and your loved ones have all the joy this season has to give. **hugs**

Bill...I write from my heart and reveal much to those who look even when I write fantasy. Thank you for looking. HAPPY NEW YEAR...dear man, I pray that the New Year is filled with all the love you desire. **hugs**

Sandra...when ever I think of him I feel blue...that is why I responded like this...I too know what it is like to be rejected. **hugs** HAPPY NEW YEAR...I hope your NEW YEAR is filled with love and joy.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

You could really feel the sadness in this write.  Well done.

I thought of the old song Blue Moon when I saw the title. Such a wistful write, sad but beautiful. Your words always seem to twinkle, even in sadness.
