I want this written plain enough
so even you can understand.
I'll use small words
so I'll be heard,
Hear me now: "I need a man."

It'd be nice if it were you.
The children would be glad.
"We wouldn't even have to move."
(words from the son we have.)

I have tried so many things--
I wanted this to turn out right.
My song--too many notes to sing?
Do my kisses bite?

I'm weary and I need some strength--
strong arms to hold me while I sleep--
a loving finger lingering
in wipe of tears I weep.

Yes, it's true, I am well-kept--
a private tower of forget.
This must be some karmic debt--
a temperance of self-regret.

With these words of heart on sleeve,
I do not know the lesson here.
(Loyalty? Or simple fear?)

Should I stay, or should I leave?

Came back to add, "and FRONT."

serenity-
Wow..such pain and sadness in this.
I felt this all the way through...and it hurt.

Wow, hard hitting and a real dear John letter.

It does hurt to read this, Karen, sweetly but sadly hurting.

God bless America, my home sweet home.

(tears fall down my cheeks) Oh Karen, this is so so sad, I pray this is not related to your current feelings! (sigh) May the spirit of true love forever fill your heart, sweet friend, we all love you so very much! (kiss on cheek) You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Karen, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

After I read the first couple of lines, I thought you were directing the poem towards me.  Then I remembered my name isn't George, but I still appreciate the small words.  An excellent poem as always, enjoyed. Take care.

serenity - as plain as the words could be written. If he doesn't see it, it's his loss. And to be loved in returned, shown not with cheap words, but with deeds that mean something. Like one rose for someone special. Returned in kind, is the key...
