If I do not
close my eyes
in peace

what then is my
best chance
for waking?

Riddle me this,
Riddle me that?
Don't go to sleep!
Stay up with your cat
and howl.
That's your best choice.

I am in a silly mood after reading a 3 page poemless poem, cowboy.

Hmm... Reflective are we?

I guess if we don't close our eyes in peace, we'll not fall asleep. Even if we do, we'll soon wake up with nightmares that plague our rested minds.

Just don't think too much, let all your worries leave you before you lie down to rest.

Duncan,

how incredibly beautiful....

ever deep...runs
the wishing well
for fairytale illusions

Well.. ya can always dance instead of sleep cowboy

I liked this If my brain was working this morning I'd actually sit and reflect... maybe later today. *chuckles*

When your own emptiness is all thats getting through
there comes a point when youre not sure why youre still talking...
I passed that point long ago

Hmmmm, me thinks, if you don't clos your eyes in peace. you stay awake all night. So you don't wake up. Peacefulness brings sleep. I guess, unless your so tired you pass out...(grin) great poem. so much said in a few words. and you got me thinking. floria

Oh, you’ll wake all right, just not in peace. If we go to sleep in peace, we wake up in peace. If we go to sleep unhappy, we wake up unhappy.
Life is what we make of it, and if we don’t like the hand that’s been dealt, we need to find a way to make changes, rather than sitting back and letting things happen to us that we don’t like. Sorry for the lecture, but, as I told you, I’m in a lecturing mood. Hope things get better for you Dunc.

If you do not close your eyes then the visions of dreams that await you will not be free to form. **big hugs**

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

Just an answer my friend--- If we wake up in peace that doesn't guarantee a peaceful world, but there is always the room for improvement.

Definitely something to think about.
I have perpetual insomnia, so I can't give a good answer .

"oh you speak to me in riddles
and you speak to me in rhymes
my body aches to breathe your breath
your words keep me alive"

Sorry, can't answer your question.....except
"To sleep, perchance to dream..."

But then again, there are daydreams...hummmm.
Must sit here and ponder this one today.
Hugs, Nancy

Duncan,
ah to sleep perchance to dream
and live in death to wake again
but what madness can be seen
if we fail to sleep or dream.

Loved what you did with so few words.
