A Rose That Didn't Grow

There is something about being face to face with my window
It's that endless desire of something I've been looking for
I don't see what's really on the other side of that glass
It's my own vision of freedom and persistence with just wanting more...

I know there's this way with nature that so belongs to me
I can't seem to reach that place where the soul never looks behind
I was meant to dine with the sunshine and swarm with the storms
It looks like it's going to take dying to touch what is righteously mine...

I was made to stand still but my heart can't help but roam
I was made to walk this earth but I have an urge to fly
I should accept what I lack and smile at what I have
But, without wings upon my back it all passes me by...

I just don't blend with the physical part of soul meeting soul
I crave the winds through the tall grass destination no where
I want to be the color of blue that lies where the hills and sky meet
And, not this shade of blue that few have forced me to wear...

It's the grace I want as when the weeping willows sway with the spring time breeze
I want to be like the snow flakes and how they become one with the ground
You see them for a moment then disappear but you know they were just there
That'll be my reward when I make it to my second time around...

I don't ask for much just for the divine respect nature receives
I want to run the paths that heartache and sadness never cross
I just want to be the gentle image of when the sun dances on water
And, how I admire the last flower that stood up against the early frost...

Back behind this window I will return to simply just me
And, go on the only way the world wants me to know
Though I really want to be that steady rain that gives other life an end to their thirst
I will keep in mind I am only a rose that didn't grow...

Sauni, this is an incredible journey, through the window glass into nature and back again, with the winds and the rain and the flowers all surrounding your heart and soul. The words just flow as if written by a warm summer breeze. I feel a sense of peace and acceptance in this poem that is comforting and I'm happy to be reading this one tonight. Have a wonderful New Year.

(smiles) Oh Saunni, this is so very captivating and beautiful, sweet friend, I know deep down that we have desires to be so much more, but as long as we hold onto our dreams and spread our love, we can always be that rose in the garden of our hearts and allure all the joy of life to us all! (kiss on cheek) You are a delight to us all, sweet friend, we love you so very much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Saunni, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
