Sunrise Salute

We see how dawn forms it's early light over the world in an instant
And, before we know it the hills take on that golden glow
The sound of night soon turns to a rendition of what the stars mean to disappear
And, sometimes the every day sunrise can put on a breath taking show...

I wake with the thought of climbing one mountain at a time
Can't think of any other way to face the beautiful display
So, slowly when my eyes open to what the night has just given birth to
I salute the morning to your memory as soon as I wake...

I never dream for anything better than what my real life holds
And, in appreciation I just never look back
To what's bigger then any of my dreams ever coming true
Still it gives me a little something while the sunrise lasts...

Sometimes I want to dive into the night for what I can make of it
Then find myself holding on tightly all the way through
And, to your eyes I stand honestly to what I made heaven become
And, lie there for the first glimpse of light to give way to my sunrise salute...

Tired eyes but happy heart for I think I just found God's gift
And, for once I wished on a star not engraved with another's name
So, let me salute the sunrise for allowing pleasant dreams edged in gold
And, to be the only light in my world to ever kindly remain...

Easy does it, there we have it, sometimes blind to the eyes
Didn't know there could be so much meaning in a simple sunrise
Forgive me if I sigh in a way the world never allowed me to
But, Oh, how good the sunrise sure looks on you...
