Can I cut me open?
How sharp the knife
will slice a soul?
Can I speak my heart-
beat spoken?
Tell me now,
lest I grow cold.
Come here,
still my shaken mind.
Come here,
you were meant for me.
Come to me and know you're mine.
and come again, come to believe,
this dance of soul,
a tale of olde,
simple faith
of love's reprieve..
Come unto me,
gaze in belief,
allow release--
serenity,
give it--give it
all to me...
release
my secrets--told.

Great write Karen. I can always feel so much emotion in your poetry. You have a way with expressing your thoughts on paper as few others can.

That you got your screen name into this quite emotional poem was befitting, indeed.

"Can I cut me open?
How sharp the knife
will slice a soul?"

I wonder too...just how sharp?

I enjoyed this.

There is magic in your words but a feeling of such sadness too. Your poems are always so emotionally powerful. **big hugs**

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

I wrote something much in the same emotional vein as this, not nearly as powerful, or emotive, yeserday, posted it and then deleted it, instead posting something I felt was more uplifting.  This is powerful.  I wonder why I can't post something that speaks of raw courage and vibraint emotion as this does, as you did.

I guess in some ways, I feel intimidated in writing still, and I'm working on that.

Thank you for this, it went deep.
