    In You I See Me

The sunflower catches me
griped in the swirl
of high bluffs and laughter
and the fathoms of curl

That memory coats with
the perfect soft touch
that lingers in closed eye
believer in much

So technically magic
a pathway is built
that I wonder how time
in the past found the quilt

That covers the heart
with a warmth not earth bound
and fills all its pockets
with love’s eiderdown

You can drown in my eyes
in the depth of my sea
and I’ll willingly hold you
for in you I see me

*sigh* ... good Lordy I love the way you write....
that verse is poetic gold Martie-girl.
this is lovely in its devotion and promise.

You're the hidden cost and the thing that's lost in everything I do.
Thats the way love is ... sky blue and black.

"love's eiderdown"

mmmmmMartie! That's a very evocative image--I love that! That one phrase alone says so much-- warmth, comfort and a soft place to land!

outstanding!

Martie - This is quite pretty and VERY sweet.  I wish I hadn't read it today, because I am in "fine" form today, and just a touch too devlish to let anything slide by.  Please forgive me... OK?  Please?

As I drown in your eyes,
In the depth of your sea,
You surrender and become
A kitty kicker like me!

Now there are two of us
And I'm alone no more
I my search for kittys
To kick out the door!

OK - I know this was wishing for too much, but what are wishes for if not for the impossible dream?

I am not sure if SEA has seen this yet [my New Year's Resolution?...not to read all of the responses BEFORE I put mine in...too easy to get caught up in replicating replies!]...so anyway, where was my train of thought...OH YES!  If SEA hasn't seen this one yet, I'll do what I can to keep it at the top!

So beautifully written, Martie...and as warm as that eiderdown quilt.

So technically magic
a pathway is built
that I wonder how time
in the past found the quilt

That covers the heart
with a warmth not earth bound
and fills all its pockets
with love’s eiderdown

Great work!

The imagery in your writing is always amazing, and I found I had to make my reference to the sea as that is what comforts me personally.  I loved this Martie.
