I know this is rather romantic, Bill, but I hope it somehow adds to the feelings of serenity you had when you awoke this morning. **Hugs** from me to you.

My Serenity

Mountains come into view
rising majestically
into the great expanse
of western, prairie sky

The pure whiteness of clouds
wrap themselves in splendor
around the peaks of this chain
of bare yet perfect majesty

Snow capped still
with rivers of icy water
flowing to fill streams,
rushing into ice fed lakes

Winding roads I follow
pulled ever higher
into these giant sentinels
that somehow call out to my soul

In my secret place
I come to rest where my heart
and body can lay bare
to soak up the serenity

Gentle winds caress my skin
as I loose myself in visions,
dreams and fantasies
of him, never met, but known

In this protected little place
with rushing swollen stream
my soul frees itself that I may dream
of love not reached or understood

I crave hands that touch my soul
be made flesh filled with love
that the burning in my body
may feel his touch also

The sun peeks through
clouds, white and fluffy
to warm my naked skin
as I bath myself in its heat

Yet in the warming, of flesh,
my heart cries out to him,
who can set my body aflame,
with desire, from the kiss of his lips

The sounds of rushing waters,
so soothing to the senses,
have my ears straining to hear
a voice of love to soothe my heart

The smell of air so fresh and clean
mixes with the pine scent of trees,
filling my lungs with pure air,
as they tower all around me

I wonder will his scent
be tangy to tickle my nose
with the spicy essence of him,
still a dream but never met

Will his touch be filled with gentle loving,
to soothe the heart and caress the soul,
and will he set my body on fire
as his touch lays claim to that which is his alone

Yes, this quiet place grants me
the gift of serenity to weave my dreams,
of him, who, I know, in my soul exists,
in mountains filled with spirituality

Very soft and lovely write Karen.  Your way with words is so gentle and tender.  *s*

On the wings of words our spirits fly....and our souls are free.
