I look into your eyes....wondering.
Wishing to know simply this....why?
Why do you want this common man?
You could have had much more.

I don’t possess wealth, nor fame.
My looks don’t compare to yours.
Older, not the young man I was.
Why?  What is it that I feed you?

You say that I understand you..
That I know your every move, thought.
That I am handsome, good looking.
Are you blind?  Has love done that?

I look into a mirror of reflection.
I see tired eyes, an aged face.
I see shoulders weary from toil.
I can not see the man you see.

I will try to be that man, always...
For I love you, love you dearly..
My life..meaningless without you..
My dreams...empty and dark..

You are far too romantic of a husband to feel any of this insecurity..so this MUST not be about your feelings..
But it expresses well the questions we have sometimes.

Never judge a book by it's cover, doesn't that still apply, but some people are very superficial these days and they they take the gift for its wrapping without looking inside.

Never should you question why, all you have to do is be who you are and she will always see the real man you are. This is a very nice poem, I'm glad you have someone who feels that way about you.

Magnus, no more whys...
Juz live each day as it is, and cherish the love between the 2 of you, coz I think that's the most important. More important than answers and explanations.

Love does not see tired eyes, or any of the things we find fault with ourselves. Love sees only beauty, and the love shining from the other persons eyes. As it should be. As it will always be.

Magnus--To see through the eyes of love, is to see beauty everywhere...especially in the beloved..I think you see that way too.  Loved this poem!

(smiles) Oh Barry, God Bless You, you have one of the most honest loving hearts I've ever known, and the beauty of love shines not in looks or in wealth, but in the trust and affection lovers share together, and your heart is filled with pure love! (big hugggsssss) Never change who you are, for we all love you for who you are! I hope you had the happiest holidays, sweet friend! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Barry, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

Magnus - sometimes it's not ours to ask why, but to accept things, as they are and to walk by her side. You write words from your heart...

Ecrivan...YES...never judge a book by it's
cover...some of the most handsome men...
underneath the cover...are the most self
centered, stuck on their own looks..

I lived with that...my younger brother...

But I KNOW who I am...a very sensitive man
with a great deal of feelings...And that
is far greater than beauty...
