He loved me by the sands
Of forever’s hourglass time
With romantic words
Poetic rhyme

in his kiss I came to life
and time began to fall
I heard his voice
I felt his call

taking me to fantasies
enchanted lands
in the slipping of
counted sands

measured moments
in the blink of an eye
numbered breaths
in heavy sighs

and before the minutes
could begin to end
he promised to be
forever friend

a part of my heart
the very beat
the part that would
make me complete

and with the falling
of the last grain
our time together
would forever remain
