I am admirer of the latest invention
when the stage is set to break convention;
gifted men and women who gave their all
risking their livelihood and their fall.

It takes courage to invent a new tool use
as older ones decay, newer ones find abuse,
to back the new hardware, means getting money
to sweeten the deal, means adding honey.

takes wit and craft to change convention
takes skill and savvy to mold perfection;
look at Gillette who proposed thin blades
industrialists warned he would not get a grade.

after that came the idea of a dry shave
an electical motor was the idea of a brave,
Mr Schick, who liked what Gilette had to offer
contended wartime soldiers had no blades to squander.

So necessity is the mother of invention
for developing a new tools, I have no contentions;
as for shavers, there are still new advances,
inventors at large are taking their chances.
