If I were to leave this world and not be seen on earth again, I know without a doubt I would be missed by many a friend. When they look back on my life and the way in which I lived, I hope they focus not on what I had but on what I had to give. May they speak not of the things that with money were bought and sold. Lord, let them not dwell upon foolish stories I may have told. Whenever they remember me let there be a smile upon their face. May they recall how oft' I spoke of your amazing grace. I pray that they could truly tell by the way my days were spent, that I was a child of yours and there's no doubt where I went. I know that there were times when I was less than I should have been. Please let them just forgive and forget whenever they remember when. I lay here on my bed tonight, such a strange prayer I know. The world seems to be moving fast and I don't know when I will go. So let me live each day, my Lord, as though I won't be here again and let them only remember you whenever they remember when.  (sigh) Oh Stacy, this is the most beautiful prayer in looking up to a New Year, we all love you so much, sweet friend! (kiss on cheek) May the New Year bring you many new joys and hopes, as will you forgive and forget of all those lesser times and hold on to cherished memories! oh my god. i know how you feel. i have been thinking almost the same thing lately. no one knows when their day has come, but when mine does, i want my friends and family to smile and laugh when they think of me. thank you. it was a beautiful poem. |
