In Your Poetic Mind

How do I dance before I walk?
Wait for me beside the sea
Or in fields of orchids with
Soft petals to caress my lips
Watch the moon fade in silent harbors
Of this weary soul

When the rains come
So beautiful to feel
The storm renew my
Windblown dreams
Which wave will I ride?
So you’ll remember
The season is
Always a gentle breeze

I still find you in the black sky,
Today I fell upon the sand weeping
I felt your whisper of lost horizons
Roll the ocean wide
In waves
Finding their way
To the shore,
In voice of many waters,
Across the raven land
Butterflies dance the night
As one
As heaven welcomes the stars

I have lived most of
My life searching for tomorrow
Where my lifetime awaits
Fantasies have kept me whole
And given strength
To my heart
My soul does taste
Your tears
Raining down
In voice of many waters

So I am

Tomorrow's another day
and I'm thirsty any way
so bring on the rain

and so you are. . . and don't look now. . . but, it's raining. . .

there's a spiritual quality to this that just floats on the surface. . . but, begs to be dived into. . . like the waters that you speak of. . .

well done my friend. . .

you've taken us to the place of which you've written with this beautifully written poem...I truly enjoyed this!

The imagery just...jumped off the page.

"I have lived most of

Fantasies have kept me whole
And given strength
To my heart
My soul does taste
Your tears
Raining down
In voice of many waters

So I am"

Your ending was my favorite part. Very original, yet your choice of words may seem to have been used many times before...it is within the structure that creates the new usage/originality. A pleasure to read, indeed.

Lauren, I didn't realize you were moving as I have also not been here as much lately.  I am glad to know you are safe and well.  I have missed the blessings of your words, so beautiful it is that you write.  Your heart and soul in every word.  Well done dear poetess, well done dear friend.

Lauren - This poem is very beautiful and especially meaningful to me, as it makes many references to the sea (where pirates live) and none to the rascally Balladeer (where all the bugs die).  Seriously, though, I did enjoy this poem very much.
