As she loved him
Time, in awe, stood still
She loved him unrequited
Of her own free will

She loved him
With soul, heart, body and mind
She loved him with a passion
No other would find

She loved him
With innocence, blushing of eyes
She loved him fully
Wearing no disguise

She loved him
With meticulous care
She loved him beyond reason
With a tenderness rare

She loved him
Asking nothing in return
She loved him with emotion
She couldn’t unlearn

As she loved him
So she freely chose to walk away
She loved him
That’s why she couldn’t stay.

Your words are most beautiful.  You are right, he didn't love her back and that is why she had to leave.  One sided love is most painful.  Maybe he will realize what he really had and find out that he made a mistake.

You have to be reading my mind these days ..lol...are you hiding in my bushes? LOL. With the new year coming alot of memories... good and bad... have been rushing through this brain... So far with the last three poems from you I've read... you have hit them head on. Wonderfully written.... greatly enjoyed.

Hugs to you,

(sad sigh) Such a sad but beautifully lovelorn poem, sweet friend, this poem tugged at my heartstrings feeling the tears going down her face as she watched true love walk away. (big hugggsssssss) This is so sad but gorgeous, sweet friend, we all love you so very much! (kiss on cheek) I love it, sweet friend! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Susan, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Sue...this reminds me a little of the poem
that I posted where she left him...even
though she loved him very much...because
she could not bear the pain of losing him..

Similar...but very different...You penned
the emotions of a love given...but not
given back....Sad...but very true..

Thank you all very much, emotions always tend to get the better of me, and this time of year it seems, it is that much harder to stop the flow of them.

thank you for the hugs Michael

Obviously, this one has no basis in fact as far as your life is concerned...I mean, who would not love you back??? The mere thought is absurd!!!

There is such sorrow in unrequited love. You have written it with grace and beauty, but the sadness is felt deeply. Sometimes, for our own sanity, we must walk away when the other does not feel as deeply.

This seems to have a timeless flow to it, as if it is an essential part of life, of love.
Seen both sides, and lived upon its edge ...
you show and share great strength within these words.
Well done!!

It is good to let your emotions out "on paper," so I believe it to be so anyway.

I think that the repetitiveness of the first lines of each stanza bleeds what you feel and therefore works very well.

I enjoyed reading your heart.

Sea - Nicely done.  Loving someone too much can be frightening, and it is shame that it causes some to run.

Hey, that is the same reason my relationships never work out.  They all love me too much.lol  Actually, they love to run away from me.
