I used to dream of romance-
The perfect match, you know?
The Prince meets Cinderella,
Ah, but that was long ago.

I dreamed of fame and fortune-
A home, a happy life...
Some healthy, happy children,
A faithful, loving wife-

I dreamed of grand adventure,
A hero I would be-
Alas, I finally realize...
I'm stuck with being me.

I had my share of fantasies-
They disappeared like steam,
I knew my life was over,
The day I ceased to dream.

have to tell you, your theme is interesting,
I too chose Cinderella tonight and the Prince Dracula to relate the meaning of the witching hour!Quite liked your message, I too
am 'stuck' with being me but fighting to improve always.Take care

yes, never stop dreaming, it's the difference between life and death

Ain't buying this one, John. Poets always dream...it's our nature...and you're still writin'

very capably, may I add?

No Sir, the day you stop dreaming is the day you stop writing. I can't believe that day will ever come.
