Weathering
By: Noah Eaton
12/21/01

My Good Lord, I’m head over heels
I want to tell you how good it feels
Of how you’ve set me free
I felt just like the devils marionette
In tangled strings and vast regrets
Now I've never felt so promising...

Now that you’ve reached out to me
I am free...
I hope you can see
How much I love Thee
All that I almost sacrificed
I now dearly prize
These holidays I thank you blissfully, my Lord
For weathering me through the storm

One flew over the mares nest
I have dodged all my demons with loves parapet
Looks like clear sailing from here
I have swam endless seas of depression and fought tidal waves
I’ve been struck by lightning and seen the eye of the hurricane
And all along, you’ve held me dear

Now that you’ve reached out to me
I am free...
I hope you can see
How much I love Thee
All that I almost sacrificed
I now dearly prize
These holidays I thank you blissfully, my Lord
For weathering me through the storm

All my life I have strived
To find some peace, in all this time
All my life I have tried
To seek my dreams, and make them mine
Dear God, promise me you’ll always be my guide
Never let me go, show me the light

Now that you’ve reached out to me
I am free...
I hope you can see
How much I love Thee
All that I almost sacrificed
I now dearly prize
These holidays I thank you blissfully, my Lord
For weathering me through the storm

I will spread my wings for you…
I will spread my wings for you…
In the name of Love
I'll always share my love
I'll brave each flash flood
I’ll always be…
Weathering…

Joanna is right, Noah...it does sound like a song.

A very beautiful poem.

Noah - I must agree with Lyra, I thought it read like a song as well.  Faith can definitely weather you through the numerous storms that life throws at you.  Well done.

Well i'm glad these storms of depressions are behind you my good buddy.  Very nicely put, He is the only one to thank, for everything.
