The Window

Sitting by my window
I can see life passing by
With every season bringing forth
New life,new earth, new sky

With every dawn, I am bestowed
A gift to always hold
The beauty of the day engraved
For memories to behold

Each season of my life I see
While sitting there to view
Sweet nature framed by window panes
Each picture fresh and new

Each bird of summer singing out
Its melody of life
Each winter bird is struggling
And fighting to survive

On window sill in powdery snow
A blue jay in the cold
Turns his head and looks into
The window of my soul

And I bet he left with a contented smile on his face, as you just have a way of making everyone you are near just a teensie bit more at peace with the world.   If this poem is what you can a "little exercise", I can't wait until you do marathons! LOL, Oh Liz this was simply charming.

I do so enjoy the windows of your soul, Lady Santos.  And the poem is so apt for this time of year, when the birds of lesser ability fly south, and those hardier creatures, the Jay, the Cardinal, and much smaller, stay behind to cheer us in our snow-laden mornings.

Lizzie~
What a delightful piece of 'joy'~

'On window sill in powdery snow
A blue jay in the cold
Turns his head and looks into
The window of my soul'

I sit here now watching as the Blue Jay
chases the Cardinals from the window feeder-
laughing as he turns to look in~

Wonderful ... and merriest of Holidays to you, my friend~

Indeed, each new day holds the promise of memories to create.  I very much liked the mood of this piece, Liz.  Thank you

I can't say anything that can compare to the beauty of this poem, so I'll just say I love it, really I do.  It so well describes the feeling I have some days when life just crawls inside of me.  You are wonderful for reminding us all of the beauty out there. I'm impressed.

Happy holidays

(smiles) Oh Elizabeth, this is soooooo beautiful! I love birdwatching, and am so lucky to see flickers, chickadees, and blue jays out on my windowsill feeding.
