At night, silent
I stand in your room
In the corner where shadows fade
And darkness is soundless
I watch you breathing in the stillness of the night’s frozen air
Each breath you intake sustains life in you


I stare at your outstanding beauty
Wanting to reach out and caress your face
My heart beats faster but I hear not a thing
I see into your mind's eye
Visions of me as you dream in the tranquillity of this dark place


A sound echo’s for your sweet lips
I hear you call my name
Across the still air your voice travels to me
And the kind words you say of me
I just close my eyes and let your words cross the threshold
Into my heart and soul to live forever


So as day breaks and the light creeps into the darkness
The shadows return and I leave this lightened room
As I go I watch you stir from your deep and peaceful sleep
I say I love you and fade into the freedom of space
As you waken to a new beautiful dawning day
