I wish I had known
that it was going to go
all so wrong --
for me

but, I am glad, you see
that it is going to be
all so right --
for you

why did they promise
that I was the golden boy,
and that I could never lose
that shine in my eyes

I wish I had seen
that those were all
such a pack
of lies

I wish I had known
...

did you ever realize
in those moments of choice
what were to become
of me

and did you even see
that it wasn't me alone
you were turning
away from

now, the rain drops down
in slow drips, upon
my anxious roofs
of uncertainty

I wish you had known
...

I think of you now
and all the sadness
falls away --
from me

wondering
if you knew why I have
lost the light in
my eyes

but, somehow I am glad
that questions never came
to haunt --
you

I'm glad you hadn't known
...

and I wish it weren't so
two-dimensionally

You keep writing, Sudhir, and I'll keep reading.  This is wonderful.

hmmmmmmm. . . I'm wondering what exactly "two-dimensionally cold" is. . . could it be a chill that is both in the heart and the soul?

could it be the coldness between two people??  or. . . could it be the chill between night and day???

you make me think with this one my friend. . . and that's always a good thing. . .
