Oh dear Mummy don’t cry as I say goodbye,

I’ve lived for six years and now I must die,

I go to our Lord before I reach seven,

Be at his side in a place called Heaven.

I will always be with you, so please don’t cry;

Try to be strong dear Mummy, Oh please do try,

The Lord said he needs me, now I must depart,

I shall always be with you, Mummy dear heart.

Now the room grows dimmer, the angels are near,

Please don’t cry dear Mummy, yet another sad tear,

When you miss me, just say a small prayer,

For I’ll be with Jesus, you know I’ll be there!

Put your arms around me before I should die,

Just give me a cuddle and kiss me goodbye,

The Mother’s tears fell on the little boy’s face,

She knew in Heaven, he now had his own place.

This is, of course, very, very sad, and one needs to have complete faith and trust in Him to know that it is also a very good time...

for we would want a child to be in no other arms, if not ours, than His...

well done, Sir...

MrLeslie, I have never had to go through this but have come close.  Even though we hope and know they are in a better place with a loving Father, it would be so hard to let go.  Who ever has gone through this and survived has to be a very strong person.  Hugs to any and all of you.  ME

Poignant, yet there is a bitter-sweetness about the poem. Truly insightful, sir. I can only hope that it isn't based upon your experience.

Mr Leslie,
truly a heartbreaker and a tear jerker...I must let Marsha know she needs a good cry.

Mr Leslie, My darling sister of heart Keth sent me this, and it had the tears streaming down my face. It's a wonderful poem and magnificent write, and incredibly sad.

I called her a wretch, not because your poem is sad, although it is, but because she knows I'm not going to cry again for the next few days. If at all the next two weeks Keth darling girl

Wonderful writing, you have expressed the emotions and the feelings so well

Love and warm stuff
My you live on in HIS light
Peace and love to you
Marsha

Oh, this does have so much sadness in it, but the spirit of hope prevails.

Very good and very sad.  Definitely one that tugs on the heart strings.
