Listening to every heart

0 posted 2001-12-18 01:40 PM

From the Soddy Journal Pages, 1867

He came alone to western lands
Bearing only his two hands
He surveyed ground from east to west
A chosen spot for future’s best

For in the days of sweat and toil
To wrest a living from unyielding soil
Each had their place to conquer the land
On the plains where they made their stand

He had left his love behind
But lo, she ventured to his mind
Her song was deep within his heart
Their time had come for their new start

Brawn was needed, with much thought
In bringing a crop in daily sought
But the other crop that came to be
Was the making of a Home for all to see

The time was come for love to share
All that had been bent with care
A trip east for love of life
Hurrying back now with his wife

The other half of venture done
Matched in working sun to sun
For if the land was ever to be tame
It took them both in concert same

The dance of life they met with spirit
Neither to let go, they wouldn’t hear it
They kept their love of land in the air
For life’s song, they would share

When the sun would sink for the night
Those were the times in heavenly sight
For two together to look at the goal
Knowing each was needed for their very soul

~*~

With help once more from
a Muse of the Plains
Knowing the Spirits Continue
to Walk

ahhhh another Soddy for my collection...rhyme divine
my grats to you and your muse

You're the hidden cost and the thing that's lost in everything I do.
Thats the way love is ... sky blue and black.
