meet me, the voice says
this time i'll stay
and
we'll both go home happy
you want it and so do i
so now what do i do?
it's everything i ever desired.
oh yes, meet me, i'll bring the
wine and the cheese.
hours and hours
of being selfish
in a man's arms.
No, i can't meet you
i don't love you.
that would be selfish,
oh, hey, who me?
maybe i'll read this back
to myself later and call you,
maybe i'll see it in print
and know i am justified.
Love?
What's that got to do with it?
why can't I be like everyone else
and not care?
So I just go on lying to myself
and pretend i don't need it?
Well, I'm sorry, that's just who i am.
But i don't know how long i will
remain who i am.
Maybe they'll give me a medal
someday for following all the rules.
Maybe i've learned to be sarcastic
and i don't like that at all.
i don't know how long i am going
to be able to say....no.

Carol - it is better to stay within the rules rather that to break them. In my experience it has proven to be true. A sad write.

Opeth, well, I'm old enough! I guess i was just writing out my thoughts here, thanks so much for reading.

Bill, I agree for the most part, it's just hard to resist temptation ,thank you for reading.

Arthur, you are kind but you know really?
I write for myself and appreciate anyone
