A'musing Tragedy

In need of a muse, as mine was on leave
I mentioned it to my friend, Marge
She sweetly said 'Please...choose one of my gals
You may keep her all day at no charge'

But there were so many I could not decide
So I held interviews with each one
For then I would know...I'd be able to choose
Which muse I would find the most fun

First there was Camilla telling of places
Where wildflowers bloom in the sun
Where butterflies flutter and ladybugs mutter
Of chores they must do before daylight is done

Poppie just giggled and tickled my fancy
Making me laugh at the path her mind took
While skipping through treetops and sliding on rainbows
And sharing a joke with a babbling brook

Skyelara spoke softly of forefathers anguish
The loss of their land and an undying pride
She told of a journey of heartache and sorrow
A Trail of Tears where so many had died

Sweet Sasha brought photos...with each one a story
Of laughter and teardrops and hearts filled with love
She guided me gently through the land of remember
Where memories fly free on the wings of a dove

Mona got bored and just wouldn't sit still
So we hopped in the car...headed North just for fun
Then perched on my shoulder she sang songs of romance
And true love that comes when you know he's the one

Now Destin is wise...a teacher of history
Sharing events from before I was born
Her knowledge, extensive, impressed me so greatly
I listened and learned till the wee early morn

Sweet gentle Meona...a sensitive soul
Her caring for others is honest and true
She shares in their sadness and catches their teardrops
For hearts such as hers are so precious and few

Though Callie was happy and smiled a lot
She seemed to be caught in a dream
She gushed of her sweetheart with head in the clouds
She's so lost in love...it's extreme

When Kirstin arrived it was time for some fun
We ran off to the mall for a bit
Then back to the house where we listened to music
And talked about dating...OH NO...NOT A ZIT!!!

Cassandra...quite mellow...she strummed a guitar
As she shared with me her point of view
The stories she told me hit close to my heart
And actually made me quite blue

Miss Leandra's adventurous spirit
Was not to be kept under wraps
She shared tales of far-off excursions
To places of intrigue not shown on most maps

What a soft graceful entrance was Jennae's
With a swift pirouette to her chair
Such a treat 'twas to see her mind dancing
'Neath the beauty of flowing red hair

With the moonrise arrived Ayrasela
And the mood took a darkening turn
A deep awe overtook as I listened
I sat mystified by all I learned

Whew...that was the last one...or so I assumed
As I strolled towards the kitchen door
But to my surprise, they were all gathered there
At the invite of three muses more

Seems Sliter, Twiter, and Tambra
Had emptied my cupboards without thinking twice
As I entered I slipped...fell headfirst and drown
A vat of hot chocolate would be my demise

No marshmallow raft in sight

Sliter   Twiter   Tambra

Big hugs to my buddy, Marge, whose ever-growing
band of muses was the inspiration for this.
Just thought it was about time for an update.

"...until you have read the verse on his heart,
you have not truly met the poet.

Vicky~

No one knows my muses
exactly like you do~
You treat them with respect
when they come to visit you~

To you they're free to travel
to stir the ink in your well
They always come home happier
within my heart to dwell~

It must be that you and I
are mirrored facets of the heart
My muses simply love you~
they didn't wish to depart~

You have caught their fancy
each and every one of them uniquely portrayed
Thank you gentle friend ...
for the love you've sent my way~

Sometimes a heart may be weary
trying to make it all make sense
Then a friend comes along ...
and finds the missing puzzle piece~

Yeah, so that last one doesn't rhyme
but the point of the post is clear ...
YOU are poet-in-care of me
when my thinking might not be clear~

Thank you sweetest friend in the whole wide world~
You delight me with the love you share with me~
I love you, Vicky~
Happiest of holidays to you from my heart~
*Hugs*
~*Marge*~

*Wait until you hear of the new one who has arrived~

Wow, that’s a lot of muses Marge has!!!! Very cute Vicky, I’d imagine you’d have a very difficult time deciding which to borrow from among all these. Talk about being spoiled for choice!!! (Though, I do believe your own muse has flown back, safe and well here). Loved this one.

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

Now that is what I call a great stash of muses. No wonder Marge's poetry files are overflowing constantly, to our delight.

how well you know Marge's muses and how well you write about them.

Ahhh Vicky, this was an adorable piece in tribute to dear Marge .... such a menagerie of muses meandering about merrily amongst these lines. You've done a lovely tribute here, and captured each of their personalities beautifully. Very much enjoyed!

Best wishes to you and Marge .... and Camilla, Poppie, Skyelara, Sasha, Mona, Destin, Meona, Callie, Kirstin, Cassandra, Leandra, Jennae's, Ayrasela, Sliter, Twiter, and Tambra.

/Kit

My comp wouldnt let me reply to this yesterday   *L*
I have always said Marge grows muses on orange trees in her back yard..NO ONE should have SO MANY MUSES (teehee)
Very clever and cute musing with the muses Vicky...and I think youve got your own orchard somewhere..your muse is just fine.
Well done V-girlie
