A poem attempting to go up a ladder of sorts and down. A whisper so soft That silence will listen >A vibration so soft >That it is never be felt >>A light so dim >>That you cannot see it >>>I smell your aroma fill the room >>>But mothballs have taken you away >>>>I picture you in my mind >>>>But quicksand draws you out >>>>>I reach for you >>>>>But you fade away >>>>>>I see you before me >>>>>>But my eyes are blinded >>>>>>>In a spark things can change >>>>>>For my sight has been restored >>>>>>But you have left me >>>>>Every time I turn you are there >>>>>>And you will not go away >>>>You haunt my mind excessively >>>>And magnetism keeps drawing you back >>>Your presence is felt inside >>>Wanting you next to me >>So I keep my lights on at all times >>As to be aware of everything >Music rocking so hard >That it is felt everywhere A voice so sweet That silence will not take you in D.Lester Young (12/18/01) Tuscaloosa, AL Copyright © D.Lester Young (White Eagle poetry) |
