I did win another price (look at Anouncements) and Sunshine wanted to see the winning poem, so I did translate it as good as I was capable of.

I don't live in a village, town or city
but in open country where skies can be reached
No high buildings or factories are build here
we have heavy clay and the NorthSeabeach

Here you live with all the seasons
the storm, the mist and the warm sun
the rain, the snow and trees bending
not growing upright is what they've done

Here you pick the apples from the trees
Here you plant your own cherriedream
Here you fetch the eggs from under chickens
Here you milk cows and drink soft fat cream

What else is there to tell you
about the land I so do adore
I should want you to see it ever
but then you wouldn't leave anymore

Bordered at the beautiful sea Westerschelde
You'll find a unique peace of The Netherlands
Between the old town Hulst and beachvillage Cadzand
you'll see those by small dykes surrounded farmlands

A rose is a rose is a rose...I guess...

Titia, what a beautiful poem, and you make us want to travel there that is for sure!  Sounds so different from the hectic large city I live in, and I sure envy your "quiet"  Thank you for translating this, I would not have wanted to miss it!

Yep, I know if I ever got there...I'd never leave.  Applause, Titia.  Your world is beautiful and your poetry does it justice.

A very nice poem that touches a special part of me. I live in Holland for 2 years and wear a pair of wooden shoes in my heart.

Titia - I spent 10 days in the Netherlands some time ago and just loved it, wanted to stay. I believe the place I stayed was Nimegan? You have captured it all with this wonderful writing...
