Down Too Long
By: Noah Eaton
6/22/01

I’ve been down too long
I can’t seem to sing a song
Please don’t leave my heart bleeding in my lap
I’ve been down so long

Abandoned like a lost kitten
Crying for someone’s loving comfort
Feeling so lovelorn in a world so small to me
In all this time I feel so insecure

Night swimming in an ocean of broken hearts
Losing myself in sorrow
No raft to hold on tightly to
No sight of seagulls to lead me to the coast

My tired body freezing and aching
Skin stinging with hypothermia
My heart is so cold, my lungs are shivering
I am struggling to swim, with this emptiness flooding my nervous system

Half-a-mind crying, half-a-mind hurting
A heart crying to see someone reaching a hand out to save me
Tidal waves slowly pushing me closer
Choking and hallucinating ever so much, dreaming of resting in peace

I’ve been down too long, everything feels so cold
Smiles shipwrecked in pirouetting hurricanes, rotating in my mind
All that’s left is me
Struggling to feel alive…

there are more hands reaching out than you know my friend. . .

this is a well written, although sad, poem. . . you really explore these feelings well here. . . it's hard being down isn't it??

but, the feeling soon passes. . . and we again put the halo back on, and the light shines even more. . .

Time to come up and look at all the love around you, little sparrow. Partake of all the joy and love this season has to offer and you will not long be down. I know from experience that no matter your own problems if you help someone else with theirs your problems no longer seem as bad to you. Give it a try, my friend. You have a heart filled with love and you give it freely...the returns are priceless. **big hugs**

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

So, pick yourself up by the bootstraps, stare life in the eye, smile, and walk off!  The way before you is long and winding.  It is too soon for you to grovel in the dust of life

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

Noah,

I know life doesn't always go the way we would like it to, but please dont let it get you down. You make me happy and I can only hope that I do the same for you.
Keep your head up and keep reaching for the stars! (((HUGS)))

Oh, Noah, such a sad poem from one who has a happy and loving heart.  I hope soon you are back to the skies, where you should be my friend!

Noah
This would have to be the saddest piece of writing I have read of yours.  I felt your heart breaking and I felt the need to hold out my arms to comfort you in this time of need.  You have given so much of yourself to others and brought so much joy to our lives that I believe now is the time for the tables to be turned and for you to receive all the love you deserve.  Please know that you can contact me at any time if ever you feel the need to talk, I'll be there for you.  I hope you find what it is you are looking for and happiness is restored in your loving soul. Take care my friend.....Sue

Noah sweet boy, I've never known you sound so lost as if you feel forsaken. YOU aren't not only is there a whole army of poets who love you, HE is there for you. And HE will always be there, all you need to do is hold out your hand darling boy.

Wonderful writing but it had me crying dear boy and you wouldn't want that, I look dreadful with red eyes. (And you don't really want that on your conscience would you?) You have talent, I haven't got a lot going for me except as decoration, so there .......   I knew I could raise a smile
