There are those children wearing glasses round
they pay attention, their faces never frown
teachers explain what's on the board today
while fantasies run havoc, through windows to play.

As an alert child with glasses round
I stayed up late and read adventure tales;
liked to daydream during history classes
and think of tales to tell interested masses.

What happened that night when candles would blow
and a mark on my head would shine in the glow,
I knew of destiny carved in temples of stone
how my people would seek refuge there all alone.

I knew I would be attracted to the glitter of gems
their light reflected fires filled shrined dens,
constant flickers, a relentless search for no unsafe end
but the golden path of fresh discoveries, around each bend

(smiles) Life can indeed be like a game of Quidditch sometimes; seeking our destinies are like chasing the golden Snitch, but when we learn to love ourselves and believe in our hearts, we can catch our destiny by the palm of your head and find true happiness! (smiles) Soooooooo wonderful, sweet friend, I love your wonderful words! (big hugggssss) You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

I really liked this poem, Martin....but I must confess that I am having a blonde moment about the last stanza

"I knew I would be attracted to the glitter of gems
their light reflected fires filled shrined dens,
life would mean a relentless search for the Path
joys of fresh discoveries, not the aftermath."

Please explain it to me....I am sorry, I just must not be with it tonight...but I really liked the rest of the poem...
in fact, I like this part also, I just don't understand what you are saying with this stanza.

Not sure I understand the ending but I do remember how, as a child, and still as an adult, I love to lose myself in fantasy...*grin* I guess in someways I never did grow up and I am very glad of it too. **hugs**

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.
