As I set my clothes on the bed.
Trying to remember all the things in my head.
I've selected an elegant, long, black dress.
In hopes that it will help me to look my best.
Straight with spaghetti straps, the material is thin.
Diagonal at the bottom with a ruffle on the end.
A long sleeve jacket with sparkly things.
And of course as accessories a few of my rings.
My blondish brown hair curled around my face.
With beautiful earings in their perfect place.
Just a touch of makeup to accentaute my eyes.
You can see the crystal blue in them, deep down inside.
So on to the bus we begin our ride.
To find all of the wonders that they have to hide.
A game on the bus as we go to the city.
Talking and joking and making ourselves giddy.
Walk inside to a beautiful room.
Filling with wonderful people starting to bloom.
We talk, drink, and snack for awhile.
And it's great to see everyone smile.
We eat our meal at a wonderful place.
And there is so much beauty and so much grace.
And then we dance the night away.
Having fun just the same.
Dancing in my husbands embrace.
Looking tenederly into his face.
Sharing a moment that we two share.
Giving each other a moment of care.
Now it's time to go back home.
And live the life we all have known.
As I look forward to this party each year.
My friends and family are always quite near.

Peaches,
It would seem your husband had the prettiest of the ball. Our parties aren't that sane!

A very nice poem, and it sounds like a very nice time you and your husband had.  Merry Christmas to you both, and carry the spirit through out the year, till the next party.
