I Can Spot Hypocrisy
By Larry Chadwick

Look around you it’s what you’ll see,
A lot of people practicing hypocrisy.
It isn’t that hard to figure them all out,
I’d be glad to tell you if there’s any doubt.

Did you hear about the preachers daughter,
The things she does would make great fodder.
Don’t forget all the women and their chatter,
They make gossip seem an important matter.

Then there is the man who beats his wife,
But makes a living settling others strife.
Or the guy who pretends he’s working late,
Instead he’s out on a very improper date.

So I went to tell the pastor exactly what I thought,
And how these hypocrites made me so distraught.
He invited me to enter through the church door,
As hypocrites go I guess there’s room for one more.

The world is full of hypocrisy. It seems to be a deeply ingrained human illness, unseen in "lower" animals.
Are you in need of a big hug?

Kacy,
If I had known how to get so many hugs I would have started alot sooner. Hey, I'm fine. Just like the concept of always having room for one more hypocrite at church. It's the place for the sick not the well, you know!

Point taken. There's a little hypocrisy in all of us. Good one.

Yes, Larry, so can I!   I say we put everyone in a fishbowl for 24 hours and let them rinse off, THEN see a change

JamesMichael,
You're right. Or we lie to ourselves that we don't even have those flaws! Ironic indeed.

Victoria,
What a strange world, huh? Billy is exactly right. Thanks and Merry Christmas.

Noah,
Glad we're not like that, huh? LOL Happy Holidays.

~Sigh...we are so human aren't we. Seems like it gets harder and harder to find someone real. I for one...have decided to call a duck a duck. If I quack please slap me. For all I want for Christmas is to live and let live in joy and peace. But others will certainly talk about what "She was wearing at the Holiday Office Bash".

Regina

We can all tend to have blind spots when looking at ourselves, can't we? Great expression, Larry!

Regina,
You quack me up! Okay, I'm no policeman of ducks but I'll do my best if you do the same for me.

Denise,
Guilty as charged. Oh, that's right, I already confessed! Thanks.

What a great topic for a poem, Larry!
Wherever you turn, nowadays, you can find hypocrisy....
Sometimes I think we are a nation of used car salesmen (oops!...I hope your not a used car salesman)....some of those guys are actually honest!
Great job, Larry....I mean the poem, not a used car salesman

How true, there is a little hypocrisy in all of us, no matter how we try not to be.
Love those last two lines Larry, very cute. Though, as one who worships at the "Church of the Holy Mattress", I only find one part time hypocrite there, and that's me!! Lol

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?
