          Undertow

you pawned diamonds
and turned them into water
coming back from a vacation
where you drank a different liquid

you took me to the edge of the beach
as I watched you swim
warning me of the sharks
never letting me get my feet wet

had I have known your future
I never would have saved you
as you made excuses for the swim
I should have let you drown

yes, the diamonds are gone
they are the grains of sand
that now wash away from shore
melted in the undertow

"I have already paid for all my future sins."  Sade...(King of Sorrow)

*sigh* sometimes we find the treasure was not what we had thought it would be. This poem had me thinking of things that have happened in my own life. My heart feels this deeply. **hugs**

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

Excellent conflict here.  Very good.

(big hugggssssss) Oh Helen, I know just how you feel, for some treasures we find in life may seem like riches, but in the end, they just don't sparkle like they used to! (sigh) Always listen to your beating loving heart, for the authentic diamonds of life are found only in what you cherish and believe in that makes you happy! (sigh) We all love you so much, sweet friend, you are a true treasure of these pages! (kiss on cheek) BRAVO!!! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Helen, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

There is always so much within the weaving of your words. I love this!

Your storm of assumption feeds anger I am calm enough to hold inside. Don't pretend to know me if you've never put stretched out your heart with since
