Rushing headlong presents wrapped
Tree in tinsel dressed
Lights in garden twinkle bright
Neighbours are impressed

Get the list out just to see
That no one has been missed
Hang up holly….. Mistletoe
Just think you might get kissed

Cake is baked mince pies done
The trifle wobbles jelly
Get the papers grab a bun
And see what’s on the telly

The kids have grown but they’ll be ‘round
On Boxing Day no doubt
To eat what’s left and wash the pots
And put the rubbish out

The day will fly with laughter loud
And smiles and tears and hugs
They’ll all depart with kindly words
Red cheeks and friendly tugs

The evening time will be sedate
That never seems quite right
And we’ll reflect the happy day
And enjoy a Silent Night

Verse four is part dream part wishful thinking!!
