School was out and
we arranged outings
with people,
whose happenings
were deduced from
an occasional
email or icq message.
We met up eagerly,
dying to catch up
with each other
and the good old days

Don't take offense, okay
This is nothing about you

In the midst of
the rowdy get-togethers
and gossipy chats,
a shroud of loneliness
came over me
It stabbed me vulnerable
and I wasn't quite the same
as before

Do I make friends
because i enjoy
your charming characters
and your warm companionship
or because
i desperately need
my emotional void
to be filled?

Am I being sincere
in wanting to know you
or am I just
trespassing irritably,
trying to pass time?

i hope you think this is thought-provoking...hmm, i later came to the conclusion that i am really keen to know people, no thanks to the unquenchable thrist of curiousity that Virgos are supposed to have..ha!

I have often wondered this myself. I think it's normal. Not much comfort in that, but I enjoyed the poem.
