The hustle...the bustle...the traffic...the noise
on Santa's big lap, sit small girls and boys
everyones merry...the holidays nigh
as I sit in the shopping mall...tears fill my eyes

memories triggered, of past happy times
if only the cosmic clock would re-wind
and take me back to years in the past
I'd never again live my life so fast

never again would I wish for tomorrow
knowing now, my past future sorrow
memories of loved ones I've lost...so dear
pervade all my thoughts
I wish they were still here

the holiday hustle and bustle and cheeer
I'll try very hard to enjoy it this year
celebrating with loved ones still with me, so dear
and for those whom I've lost...I'll still shed all my tears.

I feel so much pain in this, and the hope of Christmas and what it means.  This makes me want to hug someone....

It really moved me.

I like the photo, got your message, I would think that that kind of behaviour you described on the phone is common among those managing sites, so in the same milieu who is to say one is better and another worse? I had in fact a count of 13 replies but only saw 3. Strange. Nice write here.

Lyra,I know Christmas has got to be hard for you. I know a day doesn`t go by that you don`t think of your husband and son. The love we have for the ones we have lost is what helps get us through.: TAKE CARE!

(tears fall down my cheeks) Oh Lyra, my heart cried reading this poem, for I too know how it feels, and I will always miss my loved ones too! (big hugggssssss) Always know that you are loved by many and your loved ones that now rest in His loving hands will always love you and never forget you, just as your loved ones that still visit you today will always be there for you just as we all are! (sad sigh) We all love you, sweet friend, you are an angel to us all! (big hugggsssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, your compassion and love shines in all your beautiful words! (kiss on cheek) You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Lyra, thank you for sharing!

Mya love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Thanks so much, Amusemi...
My first husband died in May of 99...and then in July of 00, I lost my oldest son very suddenly.
This was written when I was trying to go shopping last year for Christmas and Chanukah presents.
Now, I am remarried, but still....nothing ever brings back loved ones who have passed on.  It is especially hard to lose a child...no matter what their age.
Parents aren't supposed to outlive their children.

Thanks Martin,  I noticed that they also snipped your message off the poem which I had posted there.  Isn't it much nicer here at Passions.
You are among friends here!
There are no czars, fuhrors or poetry police....unless you commit a horrible crime....then, well...you'd just better watch out for those poetry police...I understand that they are even worse than the famous mattress police!

Juanita.....thanks for replying and I know that you know exactly how I feel.
You probably think of your brother all the time also....and the holiday season is the worst time for that...because it brings so many memories into sharp focus.

Thanks for the hugs, Karen....
Yes, I do have many who are still with me and also my new husband...but, of course...as I said before...It is so difficult to forget the past.

My dear friend, it is I who sheds a tear.  Much wisdom and felt this should be re-posted this time of the year. (hugs to David from us here too.)
