~*The Future I Recall*~

Sweet memories drift back to me
A smile crosses lips
I recollect a time when you
were at my fingertips

Once upon a romance when
we danced 'neath lover's moon
When every word in whispered breath
would cause my heart to swoon

A hug, a kiss...sweet reminisce
It seems like yesterday
When you were here beside me
loving me your gentle way

And, now I long to hear your voice
Sweet music to my ears
To know once more the sound of you
after oh so many years

Thinking back to hearts entwined
How quickly I could fall
Can't help but wonder
is it 'past' or 'future' I recall

~vlraynes

"...until you have read the verse on his heart,
you have not truly met the poet.

Very nicely penned, Vicky. Thoughts to ponder, past or future memories?

Vicky~
I believe this is one of your prettiest pieces~
The nostalgically lingering memories are delicately defined ...
makes it a 'keeper' piece~

I have read it seven times ... and each time it stirs a new memory~
That's pretty powerful writing that can do that~

Love you, gal~
Bunches and bunches~

Lovely poem Vicky. Sometimes the past lingers so dear in our memory that it feels like present, and leaves us wondering if it could be our future.
I tried that once, but it did not work out for me.
