Does It Really Matter?
Decemeber 12, 2001
Copyright 2001 Doug Pretorius

Through all these years
we've searched where we belong
Casting glances back and forth
and singing our favorite song

If you lose yourself
I'll find where you went wrong
I'll carry you back home
before too long

As time goes past
we think how it won't last
In spite our simple dreams
we still don't know they mean
And we spin off too fast

Some say we're gone
but we don't know that yet
Does it really matter
if in the end we'll set?

For now it's love
that holds our hands
and whispers softly
you're a woman and I'm a man

So time can tell
if our hearts fell
For something that would end
as long as we don't break or bend
I think it will all be well

Doug,

I really like this.. my favorite part......

"For now it's love
that holds our hands
and whispers softly
you're a woman and I'm a man"

Sooo pretty

Hugs,

Noah: I continue to aspire to write love poetry as you do. Even your replies are filled with it!

Tara & Karen: Great! I'm glad it came through, I was trying to be sweet in that stanza

Kay: The key to the whole thought, and I'll bet that we will hold fast.

amusemi: LOL, well said.

Thanks you all! *hugs* for everyone...

Doug
