Listening to every heart

Crepe of Skin {But Music Holds Me}

Long gone are the days
of toned sweet skin
now are the days
of
the oncoming

Today, December 12
yes, I am
a Sagittarius,

I enter the first day
of the first year of
my fifth decade ~
my
mirror says
"you've
never
looked
so
real"

And that
is how
I
feel

I knew I
was old before
I was ever
young

So I think
I may now become
unstrung

Always as a child,
treated older ~
an adult
in child's
crinoline

Never again

and folks?

I love you,

Still,
you left me
far too young
with unanswered
questions
on my tongue

Although you left me
with gifts
love of music
love of life
love of love
not necessarily
in that order

Love of life
Love of music
Love of love
and my brother
loves his acoustics
for he loves his music
and my sister
has love of life
and I have
Love of love
and love of music
and I love life

My crepe of skin
it brings me in
to what I am

~ * ~

I am
a thought
in your heart
a warmer part
in the soul of your
dream, so surrender
yourself to the moonbeam
in the night of dream for
you might hear the key
to the music of the
twilight's scene
and not miss a
note of this
beautiful
dream
not a
one

&
now
dream
somehow
of sunlight
bright, white
taking away the
night to show the
crepe of skin showing
age but somehow you do
not care….and for that I can
say thank you kind one, for
I shall grow old and you
shall grow with me and
we will love the music
as you shall hold
the key, to listen
to my heart so
openly, so in
awe of we,
so in awe
of us, so
much
of
we

Long gone
are those
days of
young,
so much
so, I am
entranced of
what will be
more than
I ever was
before ~

Now I want
more ~

For all I
want is your
happiness

And as you
read this
song of bliss
know that
you are
here and now
in my kiss
and in my
crepe of
skin

In my crepe
of skin
you, Sir,
have crept in

Please
linger,

Yes,
a little
longer

And then
one day
More

Karilea,
This web of lace now stands in place
Forever will it grace this space.
And I'm in awe the intricacy
Of it's very simplicity. *L*

I'll come out of my blue with best wishes for you. Happy birthday fine woman and indeed the highest compliment is that you are real. I see now why the reflective poems of late, fifty is a proud milestone (I'm write behind you). A toast to your integral presence at passions and a prayer that the rest of your road be made with little effort but a great view.

I loved every line of this, Sunshine... but then, that's usually the case when I read your poems. *S* It's your birthday... but you give us the gifts... and they're always just what we wanted. *S*

I didn't realize that two ladies so special to me shared a day... my niece is 12 today on 12-12. *S* May you both be richly blessed for the happiness you give to others. *S*

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Sunshine... and thank you for warming our lives.

Happy Birthday and what a poem to start off your 50th year  *S*  Fifty is not so bad, you have a lot of good folks to share it with.  Take care and enjoy the day.

Birthdays are celebrations of time,
for life is a miracle and to live is a gift. It's wrapped in a ribbon woven with dreams, and whether we are very young or very old, it is filled with wonder and surprises.

I send a wish that this day is wonderful for you
and that the child in your heart lives forever.

~Hugs, Nancy~
