   The Heart Knows

The heart knows the way,
the ride of it is a memory
that fragrance from recall squeezes
from out of a tree,
then a sound vibrating
with voice caught within my own,
to say that life continues
and love is forever.

To say,
you just might find what you are looking for
in the nights melting across the sky
in color that screams

listen to your heart.
______
In memory of a dear friend

To decorate this aging
is no longer possible, but the wind
knows, just moaning in the afternoon
changes the listener.

Martie~Sister of my heart~
I recall that our friend, Wilfred Yeats loved this piece ...
and found special meaning in the lines you've arranged here~

You caused me to give thought to him ...
and I thank you dearly~

Martie,
I love the way you've used fragrance, sound, and color to describe the way the heart knows.
