Childhood Sled Ride
by Larry Chadwick

I remember when it snowed a lot,
And I wanted to go out and play.
My mom put socks on my hands,
So I could stay warm that way.

Took my sled and off I went,
With my friends to the hill.
Climbed all the way to the top,
I started to feel the cold chill.

The anticipation of the sled ride,
As down that hill I tried to slide.
The snow was just way too wet,
And I was so totally cold inside.

Straight back to the house I went,
Not because it hadn’t been nice.
But it was impossible to stay warm,
With my hands feeling like ice.

So reminisce about your childhood,
And all the memories kept there.
But to your kids admit the full truth,
Fresh memories are how we share.

And what was it sweetie, +30F??? LOL, I can picture you with socks on your hands. What about your head? Was that another sock? LOL.
It warmed up here tonight to -10F. Just about time for the bikinis.

Kacy,
Oh goodie, sweet dreams about bikinis tonight. Naw, I won't say it...lol and now I'm ROTFLMAO

The past is history and the future is a mystery, but today is a gift and that is why it is the present!

Don't you dare say what you are thinking! And how do I know what you're thinking? Just a guess. Actually, I'm wearing a long johns top and sweat pants, since the floor/wall connex has lots of drafty spots. This house is sliding off its stilts, and may topple over in another year or so. It heaves and falls with the permafrost 2x year. Imagine your body going through all those temp changes, from -40F to +70F.

Siofra,
Guess I'd never make it in Alaska, huh? Thanks.
