(forgive me for posting, when I haven't had time to read all of your poems.  They move in and out so fast.)  Joyce

Oh Christmas tree against my wall,
Which is the fairest tree of all?
The one that holds my memories
Is quite the loveliest of trees.

The Christmas bell our darling made,
Upon the top-most bough is laid.
The angel with the golden hair,
Just like the child who hung her there.

The tree is filling up so fast,
With dear mementos of the past.
Keeper of all that used to be,
Each year I need a larger tree.

A time to reflect is what decorating the tree is meant to me. I laff, I cry over many trinkets placed on each branch, a life revisited with every ornament.
This year is hardest for me, being alone after so many years of timeless xmas mornings waking up to a loved one.
Your beautiful words have made me smile, and I thank you from my heart.
HUGS

I like it

Everyday a new memory
Add an ornament to the tree;
Everyday an angel born
To guard thy tree at night.

I wish you a merry Christmas!

Dear Starline, Rogue, Kathleen and Aries.  Thank you all for reading my little poem and understanding.  So many have gone on but I keep their memories in my heart and on my tree.  Love, Joyce

Sometimes we can read Christmas memories and laugh...other times, a silent tear is allowed to fall...

this is one of those times....

Joyce,I really enjoyed this.Christmas is so much fun now we have a 2 year old grandson that helps us get through our sadness. But Christmas can be so sad especially when you hang an ornament on your tree in memory of someone you lost.
Merry Christmas to you and your family!
