It's been hurt beyond repair
During the times when you weren't there
It's been fooled and torn apart
Please help me mend my broken heart

We could patch it up with glue
But that surely wouldn't do
Or put the pieces back in place
But there'd still be an empty space

Only one type of medicine will do
A prescription of love from you
But there's no doctor in the house
As I cower like a mouse

My heart is not the same anymore
Since you walked out of my door
As the tears fall freely from my eyes
And I bid your love goodbye

*sigh* I wish I could help you. I am an expert at having a broken heart but in all my years I have never learned how to mend one. My heart goes out to you. **big hugs**

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

Emotion of something lost ride high in this.
Yet I see hope in "And I bid your love goodbye", as to someone who will adjust to it afterwards.

Good flow and meaning!

Blessings in the love's we will find that we can flower in!!

I understand this so well, it hurts a lot.
I wish I knew why it goes like this so often.
I hope your heart heals soon.

Hearts are fragile things. They contain the essence of who we are, what we feel, and how we view the world.  They are warmed by the kindness of others
or bruised by a careless word from a friend.  On rare occasions we hand our heart to someone for a brief moment, to give that special person a glimpse of a private place within our soul or to see how the moment will be cherished.  It is on these occasions bonds grow stronger or snapped and rarely mended.
The more we share our heart the bigger it grows and the more open and loving we become.  A heart cannot be stolen or it will wither and die. It cannot be bought for the price is too high. It may only be borrowed for a very short while.  Or maybe once in a lifetime exchanged with someone truly special, to forever be soul mates.

Your poem brought this to mind.

Death comes not when we cease to breathe, but when we cease to dream.
