Marge’s Contest is Fixed
By Larry Chadwick

That Marge is a pretty clever lady,
Making a contest that is fixed.
She is the only one to judge,
So she can be the one that picks.

But then again it’s a clever idea,
Getting a personal address that way.
When the outcome is predetermined,
She tricked them into telling her where they stay.

The past is history and the future is a mystery, but today is a gift and that is why it is the present!

We all know one of the winning poems will be Balladeer's...
everyone here knows--she's had her eye on him for years.
She just needed a clever way to find out where it is he plays & stays.
Yes ... me and Larry have caught on to Margie's tricky, wicked ways.

And lets not forget her plan to meet my sweet winkie Sy ....
She knows he's mine all mine...she's better off not to try.
Yes ... me and Larry, we have figured it all out.
Margie's contest is fixed ... of that there is no doubt.

Even though Marge may be up to tricks
look at all you've given her to pick!
A treasure trove that is now her own
as she flies from poem to poem!

Perhaps its Long John shes after...maybe hes the one...
shes looking for some Pirates treasure and some high seas fun
Who knows poet Larry??? ... maybe it's you
that Margie is so clever ... hard telling whats she is up to.

Lets ask her what shes going to do with the winning address ...
Lets hold her down and tickle her till she giggles in confess.
Yeppers ... I bet shes got more than poetry up her sleeve ...
Larry...you best keep your eye on her..this I do believe.

(teehee) where is Margie ... reading LOTS of poetry me thinks

Nancy Lee,
Just trying to help people avoid any possible disappointment.

Janet Marie,
Yep, it is probably Balladeer. She tipped her hand in response to that challenge poem he wrote. Sy would be a close second.

Charisma,
Really? I didn't know...

Janet Marie,
LngJhn...nah.   I was too clever to fall for her ruse. LOL (Never mind her deadline didn't fit my schedule.)

Oh did she now our Margie sweet
did she trick us in this challenge indeed

Well never mind what her mind was up to
I enjoyed the reading and writing I do

She called me 'the greatest' but I fear
that it won't do any good compared to Balladeer

But then, wasn't it great fun to do for us all?
didn't we have our laughter and joy at this ball?

I wrote about falling sunshine when it took me back to yesterday, in vain
and sentimental shakedowns when they yelled 'Mama get off that train'

The coming seven days she will be a busy mind
while we rest our case and sit quiet on our behind

Larry & Others~

The end results may surprise you all
I've so very much to read ...
each and every poet entered,
gave their best to me~

I have not the slightest idea
to be playing hanky-panky ...
Balladeer knows he's mine,
and LongJohn is just a hankering~

I've many thoughts to share
with each and every poet ...
You've given me a book-filled with inspire
and I hope you know it~

From the heart of this lady
comes my greatest appreciation
EACH AND EVERY POET entered
has my GREATEST admiration~

Balladeer and LongJohn ...
have each asked not to compete,
Well, at least not in the running for
the prize of which I speak~

Soooooooooo, tongue's in wag
have got me laughing loud ...
I'M THE ONLY JUDGE ...
It's MY game ..... I'm allowed~

Now carry on dear Larry~
One thing is for certain ...
You didn't take the 'bait' ...
Sooooooooo, guess you aren't flirtin~

Now I'll retire to my desk
to study each poetic entry ...
Back to you all later .....
GUESS WHO THE 'WINNER's' will be ! !

Balladeer ... LongJohn ..... shhhhh !

*HUGS* to ALL~
~*Heah,come da JUDGE*~

~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~

Your Honor,
My apologies if I caused any offense,
It is seldom that I find words to mince.
But I've seen you as such a good sport,
I just trusted you would certainly retort.

Now you go off and do what you gotta do,
And we'll all wait here until you're thru.
It is an event that has been great fun,
We are all waiting to see who has won.

You have added the appearance you're fair,
By not allowing the Balladeer to play there.
Soon we'll see who gets the wink of your eye,
And gives your heart that really big...sigh!

But until then the Passions jury is out,
Since our Queen Marge packs so much clout.
But to whomever the winner soon will be,
You may want to route your prize through me!

Dear Larry C,
I only got here a couple of days ago. I read your poem and went "Huh?" But the replies cleared it up for me. I'm grinning all over my face-very cute poem, and the replies were chuckle-makers.

Hey, Larry! Get those eyes fixed and read again. Marge didn't disallow me to compete...I volunteered!   Besides, why would I want the prize when I've got the judge!

Timothys Angel,
Mission accomplished.

Pilgrimage,
Hey, you did good to figure this out. Glad you enjoyed and welcome to Passions. I hope you have as much fun here as I do.

Balladeer,
Technicalities! But based on your self-confession you have to have been disqualified, ya' know!

Well, now I'm really p#@&^% off.  If I'd known that Balladeer had bowed out, I would've submitted something for the judges approval.

ROTFLMAO, this is good, Larry.
Who is this Balladeer person, anyway?
Queen Marge, you have big job ahead of you. I have read so many poems my head is spinning, but missed almost as many as I read.  Keep that coffee pot on.

Duncan,
It was kind of underhanded, wasn't it?

Siofra,
I have a hunch this is the first annual!

Kacy,
You have to be able to keep up with all those poems to qualify as a Judge! LOL

This is all so fun, Larry C
Waiting to know the winner to B;
'From the start', I knew I was
'Going for a ride'...'Poet-or-not'
Trying to show 'My tender side'...

People were in with the 'Butterfly Stealth'
'Hand-in-hand' with their 'Passions Membership Titles'...never ever wanting the
'Passions Cold Shower'....

I took 'Grandma's advice' and am
'Ready in a dress', but
It's seeming like an 'Eternal Moment'
To meet one who beat the rest

loving this all,
thank you,
amigo

Larry dear bouy, how can you be so base as to suggest such a thing. I know Margie girl is above reproach. I tried corruption and bribery none of it worked. I really really wanted that book.

Great writing, I enjoyed this a lot.

Amigo,
Holy cow, I can't believe you have seen all those poems. I have never felt more honored. What fun! Glad you enjoyed.

Marsha,
She may be beyond reproach. But...she is not beyond a little joust! I happen to know she has an excellent sense of humor. (and it's a good thing for me)   Thanks for some more fun!
