The new world spread out before them, the Adam and the Eve,
Another place, another time, in their private fantasy.
And this time they would live forever within their garden gates
The star-crossed lovers who found each other, although it was too late.

The world they knew awaited them each morning and each night
But in their need they found their refuge in the interceding light.
They’d slip away and meet each other in their private virtual land
Hold each other, love each other, for others couldn’t understand.

The days of loving kept growing sweeter, as passion filled their need
The star-crossed lovers became true friends in their world of fantasy.
The years rolled by but the love remained in the world they had begun,
While they drew closer to reality in the love they shared as one.

Time and chance sped on by, but the love remained the same,
Within their world of fantasy where they shared a common name.
For love doesn’t know the boundaries or the mores we live within,
It only knows what the heart desires, and on what the heart depends.

The lovers aged in reality, but remained forever young,
In the other world they had created from what they had become.
After ages of longing to hold each other, time finally cleared the way,
And the lovers walked out into the world through their Eden’s gate.

Beautifully written.  The best kind of love is that which knows no bounds ... has no limits ... and reaches beyond more than just the flesh.

Good evening, Elizabeth - Sometimes, the gates are not those of Eden.  But if they are, oh sweet mercies for the wonderful love you will find!  Thank you for your response.

Thank you, Chelle - How is it that women understand this so well?  It is in your heart every moment of your life, isn't it?

You have Pirated hearts with this one. As I believe true love never dies. Just awaits by the gates. Very lovely and touching.

Well look at the Pirate, getting serious and making us all fluttery...I swear, LJA, did you do this just to see if Toerag and Balladeer would come aboard to out-do you?  If so...

you've given them a mighty fine challenge!

I think the Ladies of Passions would like to see some more of this from you...

Sounds
like a very

Thank you one in all for these special comments.  Now, I must confess.  I just edited the poem to smooth it out.  So go back and read it again.  Of course, you will also need to make more comments, but please don't use the edit button, as I have overused it already and it may break.  heh

This is so beautiful! It is just so gorgeous, I can't even begin to tell you how much I love it!  I have always believed that soulmates and love's eden exists - you write it so perfectly    This must go into my library.

Take care,
