Take Me Back To Yesterday
By: Noah Eaton
12/6/01

I remember days of Pepsi and Green River in the bottle
When we tossed our Slinkys down the stairs and the ball game was just a dollar
Look into the kaleidoscope, watch your world waddle
When the paperboy and milkman gave you a friendly holler

I remember when we ran through the tall golden cornfields
Making love in the green grass throughout the day
From the tip of my tongue I could taste the teal
Of every sun-shining day just a heartbeat away

Do you remember ten-cent Bazooka Chewing Gum?
Trains, Candy Land, Bye-Bye Birdie and the Mystery Mobile?
Back to when we weren’t dancing to the same drum
And we played our Barbies and Matchbox cars on the hill

Take me back to when everything was simple like Robinson Caruso
Ice cream wagons, kites, jacks, and Yellow Submarine
When we would daydream away always and be made in the shade and play in the snow
Before we worshipped Maxim magazine

Do you remember when we sung “Somewhere Over The Rainbow”
When we had our first kiss in the Tunnel Of Love?
When Thomas the Tank Engine said he thought he could in his bold tone
Ain’t that enough?

Take me back to yesterday
To those good ol’ times I miss so much
Take me back to yesterday
To those years I love…

Yes Noah, many good days are behind us at this point in time.  It is saddening, but its when we had so much fun.  However there is nothing more to do than to create new lasting memories we can look back at in the future my friend!

kites, jacks, and bazooka bubble gum...3 of my favorite things from childhood!
Thanks for taking me back to yesterday!
