Hunter

I draw my bow
I aim it sure
My left eye its a'blinkin'
I spy my prey
Thru right eye's squint
But then my heart's a'thinkin'
I'm strainin' now
To hold the spring
But caught 'tween worlds in conflict
To shoot the thing
Or stay the string
The tension mounts demanding
It's in my hands
To cast the dice
It seems so clear to me
Then, inward cry
To guide me by
Is answered silently
As unconcerned
And unaware
Prey steps behind a tree
