Firelight Caress

As leaping flames reflect the dance
in shadows on the wall
Thoughts stray to feelings of romance
and love’s words I recall

The snapping wood holds me entranced
by spells it weaves tonight
My visions of true love enhanced
while gazing in firelight

Again I hear you call my name
a whisper, gently clear
With words that let your heart proclaim
love softly in my ear

As flames leap higher my heart beats
a song meant just for you
While each note fills with passion heats
in this dream I pursue

To feel your touch warm on my face
like a firelight caress
And rest against your strong embrace
heart’s desires I confess

As leaping flames reflect the dance
I hear love in your voice
I’m lost within hypnotic trance
that makes my heart rejoice
