Drop By Drop

It starts from perilous pools
well undercover
craddled in the earths bosom
her secret lover

A Rocky mountain basin
just below its peak
flowing, drop by drop
a steady stream and a creek

Down into valleys
forming hidden ponds and lakes
off cliffs for waterfalls
fill canyons made by quakes

Ending its long, hard voyage
in ocean and sea
baring all its splendor
a drop, wild and free

inspired by *Waterfalls

Wow, this is so great. I just happen to be listening to some Mozart, and this poem fell perfectly, drop by drop alongside the music! (Eine kleine Nachtmusik.) Thanks!

Interesting as my first thoughts of this were not what you meant, I see. It felt more like the beginning of tears.
Guess that proves where my head is at..
Peace

I welcome your comments.

Wouldn't such hidden springs possibly be the tears of Mother Earth?
Feeding and carrying our sorrows to these wonderful places?
Possible ... , thanks for your comments.
