Senseless

If it were not for your eyes
the things that I would have never seen
tears of joy, tears of sadness
the lows and the highs
contentment, contemptment
and all in-between

If it were not for your touch
the things that I would have never felt
your warmth, your coldness
little or much
sharing, caring
other things life is about

If it were not for your lips
the things that I would have never tasted
a slip of the tongue
fear that grips
a love that is fulfilling
or a moment that is wasted

If it were not for your voice
the things that I would have never heard
determination, uncertainty
by chance or by choice
strength, weakness, taken
or given, just say the word

If it were not for your fragrance
the things that would be meaningless
memories would have been
nonsense
and all else
would be senseless

I liked the alusion to the senses
a positive view to see anything that
crosses our paths. As something positive
i likes a lot

Giving you "goosebumps"
is a well-sought

more of your work

this is superb writing...
clever rhyme scheme ... internal rhyme laced through, alliterations..impressive use of poetic phrasing and anology with the senses and emotions.
excellent poetry.
