In a little church the other day
the preacher spoke to all
"God is willing to forgive us
no matter how often that we fall."

I listened intently to the words
that this man had to say,
and found comfort in the words
that were spoken on this day.

It had been way to long,
oh how his words were true!
He said "know this in your heart
God's angels are watching over you."

There were so many things
that this man expressed to us,
he taught the power of love
when inside you hold it's trust.

Love is a wonderous thing
the heart is surely where it belongs
but what stood out in my mind the most
is when he said "Love doesn't count the wrongs"

If the Lord can forgive us in all we do
should we not forgive those that we love?
Perhaps we should learn by the example
that has been set by the father above.

On this, a very special wedding day
this man helped me remember a thing or two,
it reminded me that love truly does prevail
and that we should never forget that this is true.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if everybody would forgive like our Heavenly Father?
Well done!

Gentle Spirit - I'm so glad that I stopped by to read this writing. How true it is. When one makes a mistake, I often wonder why some want to crucify, and not forgive. I've wondered, and I've wondered many times about this...

Without any references to my personal spiritual beliefs, I can honestly say that I do agree that real, unconditional love does  not count wrongs or rights, but just gives freely of itself, sans a tally sheet.
A very gentle write, Gentle Spirit, and it sounds as if this was a beautiful wedding experience for everyone involved.

Sometimes lessons learned come the hard way
other times they just seem to drop into our laps.  Sounds like a moving wedding to inspire...you captured this well.

You are right, Love doesn't count the wrongs.

I think that we need to keep reminding ourselves of that!
Very beautifully written.
