The challenges defined by dear poet Marge,
Build at a Sorcerer's Apprentice pace.
Before the first can be accomplished,
There's another two or more to be faced.

And every challenge I've noticed lately,
Has a sweet color or flavor in demand.
Has our dear Marge been on a binge,
At the local ice cream stand?

The butterscotch skies and lilac fields,
Are sensual simile delights.
Dear Marge, please give us poets rest,
And lock your refrigerator tonight!

My taste buds are driving me crazy,
My tongue constantly licks my lips.
Marge, your devilish challenges,
Are playing havoc upon my hips!

Please Marge consider what you are doing,
To us poets who are at your command.
Let us return to our calorie counting,
With this Holiday season at hand!

Smiling here...YOU go on the diet for the rest of us, LJA....meanwhile, we're going to dine poetically on all that is before us...

and may the tables become very, very heavy with the cornucopia of words...

Sudhir - And fineset regards to you, also, kind sir.

Charisma - I need cute, otherwise I can't think of a thing to write.

Lady in white - If the tables are going to be heavy, we'd better use a conference room table and be sure it can take all we have to give.

Hi ya, Martie, ya lil sweetie!  Thanks for reading my mundane, non-serious stuff.  There is nothing finer than the praise of a good woman.  I ought to know, because all rare things are good, and prasie from a woman to me has got to be the best - lol.

Did that sound OK?  It seems to be missing something....

This is very humorous and clever. I'm going out for some ice cream, all this is making me hungry!

Long John,
you old scallawag, Loved the poem.

you've mellowed like a lilac field after the flowers' gone
and softened like the butterscotch sky you get at day's new dawn
but you haven't lost your touch... at sparkling repartee
bet you didn't hope to get a reply from me.
Here I am just slumming, I saw your  poem pass by
I laughed until I vomited the lilac, butterscotch sky.

Keth.
I missed you, you old rebrobate.

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

LngJhnAg, what a hoot! Thanks for the laughs. I enjoyed this. Now I think I will have to go and try Marge's challenges. Oh, you didn't tell us how many shades of green you turned!

ROTFL, so is this the same shades of green you "old timers' used to paint these blue boards with, or an updated version? I heard you used to have food wars. Is that true?
PS (Beware of that neon green thingie from the fridge, no one can seem to identify it's DNA or chemical composition)

Aren't you all just the sweetest bunch of poets?  I'm gonna start blubbering here with all this simply wonderful applause.  I would also like to thank almost everybody for not acknowledging that scurrilous Balladeer's devilish remarks.  We really need to join forces and show that boy just who is the King heh - that'll get him going.

Hi ya, Keth - it has been a long time.

Marge - you are all class, sweet lady.  Thanks for the challenge.  As for your butterscotch life, I imagine anybody involved in your life has a sweet life indeed.

But... but... but... *looking confused... which is, of course, normal for me*

I was sure Marge had inspired you all just to reward me when I have a few minutes for fun for all those hours I've spent doing things that weren't at all fun??? Yammean that isn't so? LOL

I enjoyed this, scalawag.... very much. *S*
